The decision to invite President Macron comes after initial plans involving leaders of the Quad countries for Republic Day celebrations were altered due to the unavailability of US President Joe Biden.

This move follows PM Narendra Modi's recent visit to France, where he participated in the Bastille Day celebrations as the Guest of Honour, strengthening the bilateral relationship.
